Herrera, who grew up in Escondido and teaches at UC-Riverside, is the current California Poet Laureate — the first Latino to be so honored. His new work appears in the 2012-13 annual.  He will be the Featured Poet of the 2013-14 edition, to be published in March, 2014.

Gillan is the founder and editor of The Paterson Literary Review and the director of the poetry center at Passaic County Community College in Paterson, NJ.  Last Fall, she visited San Diego as part of tour for her latest book, The Place I Call Home, and was the featured reader at two events that included poets from the 2011-12 annual.  Her new work appears in the last two annuals. She will be the Featured Poet of the 2014-15 annual, to be published in March, 2015.
