Dear SDPA Nation of Poets,
I’m looking forward to hearing all your poems!
do the contributing poets get invited to read?
Contributing poets can sign in to read at any of the scheduled readings for the annual. Click on “Readings 2014” to see an updated list of readings.
Yes, contributor published in the anthology this year can show up and read at any of the readings other than the ones that are special readings designated for just the Kowit awards and honorable mention poets. Just come early and sign up on the clip board and you will be calling according the the order of sin ups on the list.
How do I sign in to read my poem? Do I call the host?
Visit “Readings 2014” for details. Basically, you just show up, sign in and read.
I missed the August reading in S.D.! Are any others planned- or is
“that a warp” for this year?
There are no more scheduled readings for the 2013-14 annual. Submissions for the 2014-25 annual are open until October 15.
I’m looking forward to coming to these readings!
As a contributor to the 2014-15 annual, if I attend the April 8th reading at the Pt. Loma Branch, will I be able to collect the five copies I have already paid for via Bill Harding since issues are not mailed out?
Copies that were ordered and prepaid before March 31st will be available for pickup at ANY of the scheduled readings.
I am a teacher in Juvenile Hall that works with Jim Hornsby, some of our students are published in the Juvenile section…and I was wondering if there was a way to order a class set (17) at a reduced price?
Hi, Jessica,
I can provide the 17 copies at cost. Will e-mail you with the details. love, Bill Harding, publisher, San Diego Poetry Annual
Have San Diego Poetry Annual given any thought about having one in Oceanside?
We are open to suggestions for a reading in Oceanside. Is there a facility or venue there that might host a reading for the annual?
That sounds awesome I am a member of a few writers groups located here in Oceanside and one is located at the Oceanside library. I will inform the group organizers about what you have mentioned Thank You.
Just checking in,,,is the close of submission still in October 2016? Plus..I was accepted in three previous SDPA editions. I was quite ill 2015-2016. but am better now and don’t want to miss out on submissions. Since I’ve been published…are any of the reading accepting ‘open mic’ time? I’d love to read with so many accomplished folks.Or just come for the joy of it. Thanks, Sharon Thompson.
Every year, submissions open on June 15th and close on October 15th. Hope you’ll submit your new, previously unpublished work for the 2016-17 annnual.
Some scheduled readings have an open mic segment, but most do not. The readings are primarily intended to celebrate the work in the new annual. Glad to hear your health has improved, and hope to see you at one of our remaining readings. love, Bill
